A Closer Look at the Epstein-Barr Virus and Its Treatment

The Epstein-Barr virus, also known as h uman herpesvirus  4, is among the nine recognized human herpes viruses in the human herpes family .   It is one of  the most frequent viruses in the human  population , b ecause it is a highly contagious virus, it spreads easily between groups of people. It is not clear exactly what the viral characteristics of this virus are; however, it is thought to be able to enter the bloodstream through a   person's open cuts or breaks in the skin. In children, the virus can invade the bone marrow and the lymph nodes and cause severe illness and even death. It is also suspected that there may be several strains of this virus and that each strain may have its own characteristics, including the ability to invade the blood.
